Back Home

It took us almost 12 hours to get back home on Friday. It was almost 10:30 at night when we got here. Yesterday, we spent the day unpacking our van and tryng to get used to being home.

If you have followed my trip here, thank you! I know this was a lot of fun and learning for me, and I hope you had fun too!

Until next time,

The Last Full Day Here

semi-overcast 68 °F

Today is the last full day that I am here. This makes me really mad because I don't want to leave.

This morning we went to a trout fish hatchery. It was really cool because the fish went crazy when we fed them food pellets. We also got to see a movie about the Table Rock Lake and how it got made by building the dam.

After that, we went horseback riding. It was my very first time riding a horse all by myself. His name was Comanche and he had spots all over him. When I had to leave my favorite horse, I gave it a hug before I left and he hugged me back.

The last big thing we did today was go for a speed boat ride. It was awesome, but not as awesome as my horse. We did get to see the Table Rock Dam from the water. That was pretty cool!

I'll post my last blog after we get back to Ohio.

Until then,

Love, SAW

The Big Road Trip!

sunny 75 °F

Today we started off going to Galena, Kansas. That is where we found the real Tow Mater from the movie Cars! He was great!

We even got to sit inside him to get our pictures taken. He was so cool!!!

From there, we went to Vinita, Oklahoma. There, we went to a Native American Museum where I learned a lot about American Indians. I learned about what they looked like and what they look like now. The kids now look a lot like me and they have names like mine and my friends too. They are different now than they used to be.

After we left the museum, we went to the World's Largest McDonalds! It's huge, but I was so mad that it didn't have a play area! I was so hacked! Even though I was mad, the McFlurry was really good!

That's all for tonight! We're going to play miniature golf soon!

Our Visit to Pea Ridge National Military Park

sunny 65 °F

Today, we saw an awesome movie about the Battle of Pea Ridge at their Visitors Center. I was so amazed but I also saw a lot of men get killed. But at least, they were just reenactors and no one really got killed. Thye just fell down in the grass and brush. I bet they itched in real life!

We saw the battlefields where the real Union and Confederate soldiers actually fought part of the Civil War. We also saw a lot of the old cannons. We saw a real cannonball too! I was so amazed when we saw a house that had fallen down.

The reenactor soldier who was there today was very cool and kind. He knew a whole lot of the history of the Civil War. Where he was, I saw a little rag inside a bowl that looked like it was soaked with blood. But it wasn't, it was just red paint on the fabric and some old hospital knives that were being used to show that the building had been used as a military hospital back during the battle. When the building was being used as a hospital, they were using knives, like the ones he had to show people, to take bullets out of the soldiers to help them to stay alive.

Also, I saw a big table cloth that looked like had blood on it too, but it wasn't blood. That was just paint too. The soldier said that men really had died in the house, but it had been a very long time ago.

Have a good night,

Today we went to a museum!

overcast 50 °F

Today we went to the Veterans Memorial Museum in Branson. We saw lots of pictures and stuff from a lot of different wars. It was kind of neat because they had lots of uniforms the soldiers wore, but they were also kind of scary. There was even a statue of a horse with a gas mask on!

The museum taught me about soldiers and the military.

We also went to German clock store. They had a cuckoo clock that was taller than I am! It was really cool, but really cost a lot. On sale it was still $12,000!!! It was still really awesome!

Have a good night!
